In Memory of Izumi: Aid for Her Family

July 3, 1961 – November 17, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Izumi Goodwin, a beloved wife, mother, and friend. On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Izumi was rushed to Orlando Health Medical Center after suffering an aneurysm. Despite initial signs of improvement following medical procedures, her condition worsened, and her family was informed that she would not survive. Izumi passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Izumi's life was one of service, compassion, and generosity. She met her husband, Jeff, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force, and the two shared 36 years of love and partnership. Over the years, they dedicated countless hours volunteering for various organizations in the Orlando area, including VA Lake Nona, VA Lake Baldwin, and numerous non-profits. Their selflessness and commitment to others made a lasting impact in their community, and their work touched the lives of so many veterans and families in need.

Izumi’s passing leaves a void that can never be filled. She is survived by her husband Jeff, their two sons, Danial and Nathaniel, and her family in Japan. She was a pillar of strength, kindness, and grace, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
