Jake Mosher, a message from the family
Jake was born on Friday morning of November 29th 1996. Jake was born with dextrocardia which is a rare heart condition where the heart is located on the right side of the body.
Therefore, Jake had to go to McMaster university hospital by ambulance to be examined. The doctors discovered something where Jake needed to be examined immediately.
While he was there, Jake and his parents had stayed at the Ronald Mac Donald house right next to the hospital for a minimal charge at night, which really helped out due to the circumstances.
Roughly six months later Jake had required heart surgery. And after the surgery he never looked back.
Going through, elementary school, high school, building motorized go karts, riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles. After getting his drivers license that’s where his journey began with cars. From wheeling and dealing vehicles, parts, helping his buddies restoring their rides, showing up to some of the most popular events and meets in Canada and the US. Wherever there were hot rods, Jake was there.
Once he was out of high school Jake worked along side his dad and worked in his engine shop where he learned the tricks of the trade. From dyno testing to cylinder honing.. Jake knew what he was doing when it came to building Engines. Jake would be at the car shows, the bbqs, the cruise nights, or even just having a beer in the driveway and admiring his freshly waxed rides...the list goes on. Jakes love for cars wasn’t just a hobby, building motors and working on cars was his life, it meant the world to him. The car builds, the tuning, the drag racing, waking up the neighbours on his way to work, or right down to bringing home the first place trophy in the burnout competition and slapping it right on the kitchen table making mom and dad proud. The house would rumble. The street would shake. That’s how we knew Jake was home.
Jake was such a selfless young man, he always put others first. His commitment and dedication to the community with being on the Bright Fire Department was his passion. His goal was to help out his community in any possible way he could.
Jake was in his 23rd year. He had his whole life ahead of him, His family was so proud that he had found Rachel the love of his life and that he had the chance to know what true love was all about. The two had their whole future all planned out. Watching you transform over the years into this talented, smart, loving, caring, gentlemen has been an amazing experience.
