In memory of James Kough, to benefit his family

Jimmy would probably want me to open with a joke… but I don’t have his unshakeable sense of humor. It is with disbelief that I tell you James “Jimmy” Kough passed away on April 10, 2022, as the result of a heart attack. I doubt anyone expected to hear this news about a 40-year-old man who had an even more youthful spirit. Certainly, Jimmy was taken too soon. The suddenness of his death has left those of us who knew him in shock and at a loss for words.
When I think of Jimmy, I picture his mischievous smirk. He was exceptionally smart, just as likely to tell you a joke as to start a debate. Though his strong convictions may have tested our patience at times, his comic relief always overshadowed that. Jimmy seemed to feel better when everyone was laughing, even if it was at his expense. He was a music lover and video game fan, beating a room full of people in Tekken like it was his job. Jimmy was also very mechanically-inclined; his knowledge about and ability to fix electronics made him everyone’s go-to resource on cameras and technology.
He leaves behind many people who cared about him and those he loved in return. Jimmy was the son of Les and Mary, growing up in Palmer, Massachusetts as a younger brother to his sister, Kelly. He had been with his life partner, Kimberly Houle, for almost two decades, and together they had three sons: Oliver (age 14), Orion (age 10) and River (age 7). It is beyond heart-breaking that Jimmy’s sons will now be without their dad, who was such a significant part of their everyday lives. Kim has also become a single mother in the blink of an eye, without any time to plan for it.
Jimmy loved his family so much! We want to help them in his absence. Kim, Oliver, Orion and River are due for a fresh start, away from the home where everything reminds them of their profound loss. Kim would like to find another place to live. She has always worked hard to provide for their family, and now she deserves some assistance in her time of need. This fundraiser was made with the goal of supporting Kim and her boys in the pursuit of a new beginning.
If you are so generous as to donate, the money will go directly to Kim. We are aiming for $5,000 towards moving costs and anticipated medical bills after Jimmy’s hospital visit. All gifts are appreciated. No amount is too small. Should you prefer to donate offline, donations can also be mailed directly to: Kim Houle, 909 Hampden St, Apt 3R, Holyoke, MA 01040.
Much love to everyone <3 Thank you for supporting this family in any way!!!
