In Memory of Jamie Matsuoka
Eastlake is full of heavy hearts as we’ve lost one of our own and a pillar in the community with the passing of Jamie “The Player Whisperer” Matsuoka. Jamie was a loving and committed family man who was also instrumental in the athletic and life-skill development of hundreds of young kids, OUR KIDS. Jamie dedicated countless hours as both a baseball and basketball coach in the Eastlake community, coaching both boys and girls across many age levels. Jamie coached because he loved the kids. Jamie was an assistant coach for the 2013 Eastlake team that made it to the Little League World Series. He also managed the 2019 Majors team that won District 9. Jamie was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge and gave so much to the Eastlake community and now it’s our turn to support his family during this time of need.
We’ve established this GoFundMe to raise money for Jamie’s funeral arrangements, medical expenses and to support his wife (Lemei) and children (Dylan, Moi, and Jayden) during this very difficult time.
Let’s honor Jamie and all he did for us personally and the Eastlake community overall!
One more slow stroll to the mound for the big-guy…
The video above was taken after Eastlake Little League won District 9 in 2019. You can feel the love and respect we all had for Coach Jamie during this standing ovation. You will be missed beyond what words can say, Coach.
