In Memory of Jany Gonzalez

It is with an extremely heavy heart I write to inform you of the passing of our beloved Jany Gonzalez. This is a huge loss for her family and for the Miami Cancer Institute. She was a medical assistant of our Symptom Management and Palliative Medicine Department for just over a year and has worked with the Baptist for over 2 years.

She was a mother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. She brought so much positivity and energy to our office. She always came to work with a smile on her face and no task was too difficult for her to handle. Jany was always a team player — stepping in whenever there was a need and always willing to help. She was kind-hearted and loving always trying to brighten our days and make us smile.

Jany is leaving behind 15 and 21 year old sons. She was the sole breadwinner and also caretaker for her elderly father.

She will truly be missed.
