In Memory of Jared Egge

Donation protected
For those of you who don't know about Jared and Kendra Egge, they met about 5 years ago at their work, fell in love, and got married on September 17, 2022. They have a beautiful home here in Parker, CO with 3 crazy pups! Most people who knew Jerad, knew that he was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Paraganglioma a little over 5 years ago. In 2021, he had a tumor that appeared on his head and in which they got radiated. Then, a few more tumors had shown up throughout his body. They tried Chemo pills but they were hard for them to get, so the treatment wasn't consistent.

The next option was a high potent radiation injection to which they had to keep at least 3 feet a part for 3 days and Jared had 4 rounds of that, the first one being a week after their wedding. Then again in Nov., Jan. And March. They were very hopeful that, that would have helped and given him a break for at least the next 5 years but, a couple weeks after his last round of the radiation injection he ended up having a seizure at work and had to be put on anti-seizure meds. Jared was still having slight seizure like activity so they decided to cut out that tumor on his head that was radiated and the scar tissue that was swelling pushing on his brain. Kendra got him all heeled from that and the end of September he wanted to try this Chemo Injection Treatment. Unfortunately, more issues arose from that and they ended up in hospital several times. He lost a LOT of weight in a very short amount of time because he was having trouble eating due to a major bowel blockage that the doctors couldn't get a handle on.

Fast forward to Monday Jan. 29th, he had two pretty major seizures at home so Kendra rushed him to the ER. He had another one while in the hospital. After he was stable from that seizure, Kendra had to run home to take care of the dogs and get Jared's family settled in who was visiting from out of town. Two hours after she left, she got a phone call saying that he had aspirated and went into cardiac arrest. They got his heart back to beating about 12 minutes after he went into cardiac arrest and put him in a medically induced coma for the first few days following and then did an MRI to see if there was any brain damage after losing oxygen to his brain for a significant amount of time. Unfortunately, there was extensive damage to his brain. While there was very little chance for recovery for patients that don't already have underlying health issues, Kendra and his family knew that being on a machine for a long time would not be how Jared wanted to live. So, as a family they decided to take him off life support this on February 8th, 2024. He fought 26 hours after being taken off life support and was sent home to be with God on February 9th, 2024.

While Kendra has been surrounded by her circle of people and always has had someone checking in on her during this awful time, people are still asking what they can do, what they can provide, or how they can help her. With Kendra being out of work since before Christmas and not having Jared's income, funds are tight right now. She is hoping to get back on her feet soon and find her forever career. But, her and Jared really wanted to fix up the backyard for their three dogs and for their cleaning sanity. They also have a swamp cooler which barely runs and needs to be converted to Air Conditioning. Any of your generous donations will go towards these items and to help her pay monthly expenses without having to worry what the next couple of months bring.

His memorial service is March 4th, 2024 at Southeast Christian Church. He would love for anyone attending to wear casual clothes. Purple or gray shirts, Vikings clothing, or Harley Davidson clothing! You can send donations to the church In Care of Kendra Egge, you can donate here, or she also has a Venmo (@Kendra_Egge22) in which doesn't charge a fee for using their service.
