“Dear Family, Friends, and Extended Friend network:
It is with great sadness that Trisha West , Emma West, and Rod West need to report the loss of our beloved son and brother, Jared West.
Jared was struck by a vehicle in a hit and run accident around 1am on New Years' 2021 near the University of Washington campus.
Jared was 23 years old and in the process of transitioning into adulthood. He was two quarters away from graduation at the University of Washington with a degree in Construction Management and very excited to have a full-time job waiting for him post-graduation. This past year was a very successful one for Jared - he found his calling professionally, was doing very well in school, and even found the motivation to make dramatic health improvements by losing over 60 pounds through diet and exercise. We are so very proud of Jared's accomplishments and will miss him greatly.
This is absolutely crushing news for all of Jared's family and large friend network. We are just beginning the grief process. It will not be easy or quick, and we will not be able to do this alone. Your positive thoughts and memories of Jared will help us immensely.
As expected, there are many unanswered questions and activities that we need to resolve in the coming months. We expect to have a Celebration of Life for Jared, in a manner that he would want. Details will be shared once available.
Thank you in advance for your Love and emotional support.
Rod, Trisha, and Emma West.”
