In Memory of Javier Quiroz Hernandez

We never thought we’d have to post something like this. Last night, our dear family friend and employee Javier was killed by a drunk driver near our restaurant. Javier was our close family friend who would help us out with whatever we needed. If we needed someone to pick up the meat from the butcher shop, he’d do it. If we had problems with our plumbing or any renovation work, he’d be there to help. If we needed an extra server to help on a busy night, he’d do it. Always with a smile and with jokes.

Many of you would have probably seen him having a drink, Michelada usually at a table near the bar. Last night, he was very close to coming home. But unfortunately, a careless monster and his friends decided to drive drunk and follow him as he drove his motorcycle home. And after hitting him, these cowards ran away from their crashed car. We hope that South Simcoe Police punish these monsters to the full extent of the law. They have left a young family in méxico without their main provider. Without a father and a husband. His mother, who is an employee of ours in the kitchen, found out while she was working a busy Friday night at our restaurant. She is now at the emergency room due to the crushing news.

Because of the impact this has on all of our employees and even customers, we have decided to close temporarily. We apologize to our loyal customers, but we know you will understand and support us. We are making this GoFundme to help with Javier’s young family, who is flying from Mexico to Canada asap. All the money will go towards them.

We will be forever have a hole in our hearts, but will look to stay strong for Javier’s family and loved ones. We love you Javier. We will do everything we can to honour you and keep your memory alive. Fly high with the angels. 1990-2022
