In Memory of Jeff Jacobs: Assist with Final Costs

Donation protected
My name is Lois Ash and I am doing this for Jeff Jacobs my brother in law. Jeff and my sister Sharon were together for many years until she passed away from cancer in 2021. He was the love of her life. Jeff has been a wonderful painter and construction remodeler most of his career. Throughout his life he has formed many successful relationship in business and left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. He was always helping family and friends with projects. Jeff was a person with boundless energy. Always on to the next thing.
I have started this fundraiser to help with the burial and medical expenses for Jeff Jacobs. Jeff went to the Conroe Hospital in early December with severe pain in his right leg. He was in the hospital for a few days having test run. It was discovered he had a blood clot behind hid right knee. He was discharged and told to contact the doctors listed on his paperwork. None of the physicians handled his type of procedure. He went back to the hospital two days later with extreme pain in his right big toe. He was considerably worse at this time. Because his toe was dying. They did a surgery to clean out his main arteries in both legs. Shortly after surgery it was discovered he had what they thought was an allergic reaction to the blood thinner heparin. Blood work showed he was making multiple clots throughout his body. They changed the blood thinners and waited on the amputation of his toe until the heparin was gone from his system. During the days it took to clear from his tissue the leg began to die from lack of blood flow. He had his right leg amputated above the knee. He began to have complications from this trauma and surgery. Fluid built up around his hearth and in his lungs. His platelets dropped. They couldn't give him any new blood because he continued the have blood clots build throughout his body again. The new blood thinner was not working. They tested his heart and found it was working excessively due to clotting and fluid build up. He couldn't under go another surgery and survive. Finally after a couple of days he received several bags of blood. His right arm was causing him a lot of pain, it was thought they might have injured a nerve while putting an IV in for surgery. This was later discovered to be his arm dying from lack of blood flow. He was given high amounts of oxygen to aide him in breathing at this time. His body had snowballed out of control and was attacking itself somehow. On Sunday morning December 22 the doctors informed my husband and I that Jeff was going on Hospice and most likely he just had days left live. This was an overwhelming shock to us. We stayed while he slept and when we left the hospital that morning we really thought he would live a few more days. His step daughter Savannah was with him a few hours later when he passed away.
