Support Jessica Martinez's Family in Their Time of Loss

It is with great sadness that our family has started this gofundme in honor of Jessica Nicole Martinez, who passed away suddenly on December 10th, 2024. Jessica was a kind-hearted, family oriented person with so much love in her heart. She was a beautiful person inside and out, with a contagious smile and a loving personality. These traits showed most at her place of employment, Lido's Italian restaurant. This local establishment and family favorite is where she enjoyed working, interacting with patrons, and making new friends along the way. Jessica was a hard-working mother of 3 and dedicated partner to her middle school sweetheart of 20 years.

Jessica had fallen ill a week prior to her death, but only addressed it as flu like symptoms as she continued to work and support her family. As the days went on, her condition worsened. Due to everyday responsibilities, Jessica was unable to prioritize her health. On Sunday, December 8th, Jessica hosted a birthday party for her youngest son with family and friends attending. Even with her health failing, Jessica was able to put her family first. As the days followed, her condition began to decline. On the afternoon of December 10th, 2024, Jessica was found unresponsive and was rushed to Grossmont hospital by ambulance. Over the course of a few hours, her heart stopped multiple times, and she was placed on a ventilator. After all efforts were made, Jessica Nicole Martinez passed away only hours after she had arrived at the hospital surrounded by family and loved ones. She was 32 years old. Jessica is survived by her son Jiovani Jr. whom she called "June", age 17, daughter Juliana, age 15, youngest son Jemini, age 6, and her lifelong partner Jiovani Mejia.
