In Memory of Jillian Ludwig & Caroline Grogan

Hi there!

As most of you know, my little cousin, Jillian Ludwig, was shot during a run on November 7th, 2023. She tragically succumbed to her injuries the next day.

November 8th, 2023, also coincided with my friend, Caroline Grogan, taking her own life after years of struggling with mental health battles; particularly the prior 14 months.

It has been so life-altering to see these two talented, beautiful women, who had so much potential and positive contributions left to make to this world, die in totally opposing means.

I don't know how best to credit and honour their complicated lived experiences on this planet. They're both on my mind daily, eternally intertwined forevermore.

What I do know is that both of these women were/are brave, determined, passionate. It's a literal crying shame that they had so much more to offer but... life happened.

The last thing our Jillian ever did was run so with that, I am running the Sydney Half Marathon and the Melbourne Great Ocean Road Marathon 9 days apart.

75% of all money raised will go towards the newly established "Rae of Light"; a US-based non-profit that honours Jillian Ludwig's legacy by providing scholarships and financial assistance for music students and struggling artists, as well as working with state legislators to pass legislation to prevent gun-related deaths like Jillian's from happening again.

The remaining 25% will go towards Crisis UK which aims to alleviate the daily pressures of homelessness; a charity that Caroline cared deeply for.
