In memory of Jim Funk

The purpose of this memorial is to recognize the contribution Jim made to the staff and students at Blair for the past 17 years. Jim unexpectedly passed away at school on July 7.

Jim was a superb athlete and after graduating from Coatesville High School in 1978 accepted a scholarship to play football for Penn State. He graduated from Penn State with a B. S. in Business. For those that knew Jim well he will be remembered for the fervor and passion he had for his sons' athletic accomplishments. Whether it was Damascus, James Madison, a Maryland football game or an Ohio State lacrosse game, Jim's booming voice could be heard proudly cheering on his sons. Watching Jake as a member of the LA Rams as they made their Super Bowl run was one of his proudest moments.

We are purchasing a memorial picnic table for Jim that will be placed in the staff courtyard.

Any extra funds beyond the $2000 necessary for the table will be donated, at the request of his family, to the Damascus Boys and Girls Club and the Damascus Sports Association Cougars football team.
