Joseph C. Guido, Sr (1932-2023) dedicated his life to helping underserved children, especially children with special needs. He dedicated the last twenty years of his life to saving, rebuilding, advocating and volunteering for the first stand alone public special needs school created in rural America founded in 1950: Lakeland School of Walworth County, Wisconsin.
Joe served as a member of the Walworth County Board of Supervisors from and Board Member of the Friends of Lakeland School (FOLS) from 2016 -2020.
Joe considered the review, approval and creation of the new school building on County Road NN a miracle.
For over 73 years Lakeland School (formerly Special School) has fostered love, learning that provided each individual the skills and knowledge to reach their full potential.
In memory of Joe Guido his children and grandchildren ask you consider a donation to the Friends of Lakeland School, an organization he helped start in 2002, and whose mission continues to advocate for and serve the children and families of Lakeland School, Walworth County, WI
