In Memory of John Arthur Donald Smyth

Hi, my name is Christine and I am a friend of the Smyth family. All funds raised here will

go directly to the Smyth family to ease the burden of funeral expenses for their beloved son John.

John was welcomed into the Smyth family on July 13, 2022. He was born early and was diagnosed with Down syndrome as well as some associated complications such as a heart defect. Joni and Baby John ended up transferred to Winnipeg where they received excellent care at Children’s Hospital. The Smyth family adapted with the help of many friends and family to make sure Joni could remain with John as much as possible, and so that Norman and the girls could visit as much as they were able.

In November, Baby John was flown to Alberta to get heart surgery, everything went well and they returned to Winnipeg just before Christmas. By January 14th 2023, Baby John had graduated from the ICU and was doing so well that he was transferred to the regular ward at Children’s Hospital. Things took an unexpected turn on January 20th, and John was not able to recover from them. On February 1st, the family spent their final moments with John on this side of heaven.

The funeral for John will be held in Carberry, MB on March 25th.

The Smyths have appreciated all your prayers since the birth of their son, and appreciate your continued prayers as they grieve the loss of their beloved son.
