In Memory of John Bowden
Donation protected
John Bowden, our Daddy, was born November 21, 1959. He was a loving father to us - Jocelyn and Paul. Daddy passed away in the early hours of June 17, 2019.
Life was a struggle for Dad. Most of you know the story, and most of you have loved us through the struggles we've faced through and with him. He was in a motorcycle accident which caused him to lose a leg, and this spiraled quickly into an opiate addiction. He then had a horrible car accident a little over a year ago, which caused some significant brain damage and extensive work for Dad to get "better."
This most recent hospital visit was due to pneumonia and severe delirium. He had to be intubated due to the level of sedation required for a spinal tap, and then he never came back. We made the tough decision to honor his wishes and take him off life support this past Wednesday, June 12th, and then stayed by his side until he passed at 12:40am June 17th.
While Dad's health wasn't great, this came rather unexpected. He had no life insurance, no death benefit policies, and while no time is a great time to lose your dad - we truly weren't prepared for this, emotionally or financially.
To be most cost effective, we are having Dad cremated. We would then like to travel to South Carolina to take him to his hometown and have a small Celebration of Life with his siblings. Daddy would have loved this, and we can't think of a better way to honor him.
Your help will cover the remaining cost of cremation (we have received a much appreciated donation already), travel for both of our families, and any other arrangements or needs that we are sure will come up in the coming days.
We are truly so thankful and appreciative of anything you can do to help.
