In memory of John “Dessy” McDonald

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Johnny McDonald lost his long battle against cancer after almost of year of illness.

As many of you know, Johnny and Paulina met in their childhood neighborhood of West Corner, when they began dating in their late teens. They decided to settle down in Hingham, where they raised their children; Hope, John, Christopher and Rose. Paulina and John went on to dedicate their entire careers to the town of Hingham - Paulina as a Para Educator and Johnny at the Hingham Light and Sewer Department.

Throughout the last year, Johnny was faced with surgery and numerous medical appointments, many of which left him hospitalized. He was transported by ambulance on several occasions. Paulina has now been left with insurmountable medical bills and funeral costs. While I know that she would never ask for help herself, she will need some financial assistance to help get her through.

Johnny was a husband, father, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
