In memory of John Gonzales - Funeral Expenses

Hi, my name is Noel Gonzales the first born son of John Gonzales, my father, who we loss due to a long battle of mental health illness. His illness did not define him. He was a husband to my mother, father to my twin siblings & I, the oldest brother of my 6 uncles and 3 aunts, a Tio to many nieces & nephews, and cousin/nephew to many.

My dad was a dedicated Chiefs fan, he loved his nieces & nephews, and a he was a painter for many years. Many do not know but he was a very talented artist which this talent was passed on to my younger brother, Johnny. He was my first coach inspiring me to discover a love for playing baseball when I was younger. And my sister Maria has my dad's charisma and snappy personality. My dad and my mom connected at a very young age growing up together, endured a lot and learned a lot together.

My dad had a very silly sense of humor, often was seen with a big smile on his face and loved joking with his wife, us, his brothers/sisters, cousins, and family. Our hearts are broken because we can only wish my dad knew how much he was loved by many. Unfortunately, mental health can affect one silently and make people feel their life doesn't mean much here. My dad was in tremendous pain, more than any one could truly have known. I encourage all especially the men to know that being vulnerable, showing your emotions, talking to someone about what your are going through is not a sign of weakness- if anything it is a manly thing to do.

Suicide is not a selfish act. My dad was only trying to escape his pain & suffering. He will be missed tremendously.

Through this page, I'm hoping to help ease the financial burdens that lay ahead for my mom as we prepare to honor my dad. All the funds raised will go directly towards; funeral costs, mortgage payments, counseling, and immediate living expenses.

The outpouring of love and support from friends, family and the community during this unimaginably difficult time means the world! A financial donation, however big or small, will have a huge impact on helping my family navigate through the tough journey ahead.
