In memory of Jorge Alberto Quinteros

Hello everyone,

On August 7th, 2024, our family suffered the tragic loss of my father, Jorge Alberto Quinteros. I, Jaime Quinteros, am his son who is writing this to all. On June 22nd, my father was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer and a bone tumor. This of course sent shock throughout all of us, but my father held out hope and was determined to overcome this detrimental challenge. Throughout his battle with cancer, he upheld such a positive mindset and was battling hard each and everyday for the sake of his family and loved ones, with as minimal complaints as possible. When family would reach out to him, he would always answer with a smile on his face and a determination like no other, a quote from my father that I will always hold so close to my heart states, “As long as my heart stays beating, I’ll stay strong and push forward”, and he did just that until the day he unfortunately could no longer hold on. My father was the type of person who could light up a room just by entering, and his bright, positive and kind hearted spirit will always be dearly missed. My father leaves behind not only me but his wife Maria, my younger sisters Annie, Emily and Madelyn, and my older sister Kimberly. Although we are all torn by my father’s sudden passing, we know that he would want us to continue on holding the same positive and determined spirits he upheld in his fierce battle and honor his life in that way. El 7 de agosto de 2024, nuestra familia sufrió la trágica pérdida de mi padre, Jorge Alberto Quinteros. Yo, Jaime Quinteros, soy su hijo, quien escribe esto para todos. El 22 de junio, a mi padre le diagnosticaron cáncer de colon en etapa 4 y un tumor en el hueso. Esto, por supuesto, nos sorprendió a todos, pero mi padre mantuvo la esperanza y estaba decidido a superar este desafío tan difícil. A lo largo de su lucha contra el cáncer, mantuvo una mentalidad tan positiva y luchó con todas sus fuerzas cada día por el bienestar de su familia y de sus seres queridos, con las mínimas quejas posibles. Cuando la familia se comunicaba con él, siempre respondía con una sonrisa en su rostro y una determinación como ninguna otra. Una cita de mi padre que siempre llevaré en mi corazón dice: "Mientras mi corazón siga latiendo, me mantendré fuerte y seguiré adelante", y así lo hizo hasta el día en que, desafortunadamente, ya no pudo aferrarse más. Mi padre era el tipo de persona que podía iluminar una habitación solo con entrar, y su brillante, positiva y bondadosa esencia siempre será extrañada con mucho cariño. Mi padre deja atrásno solo yo pero a su esposa María, a mis hermanas menores Annie, Emily y Madelyn, y a mi hermana mayor Kimberly. Aunque todos estamos destrozados por el repentino fallecimiento de mi padre, sabemos que él querría que continuáramos con el mismo espíritu positivo y determinado que él mantuvo en su feroz batalla y honrar su vida de esa manera.
