In Memory of Jose Eduardo Pulido Mancera

Gracias a todas las personas que nos han colaborado. Este fondo se ha creado con el fin de continuar el legado de investigacion de Jose Eduardo Pulido, en temas de Geologia y Geofisica. Tenemos el apoyo academico de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia y estamos colaborando con Colorado School of Mines en los Estados Unidos, para apoyar diferentes proyectos de Geociencia en Colombia.

It is with deep sadness that we’re writing these words. As everyone is no doubt aware by now, Eduardo passed away on July 25th, 2023. A brother, a son, and a friend to so many people.

An extraordinary person - From a young age, Eduardo was full of fun, light, joy, and intelligence. He cared for everyone. Growing up, he never lost his innocence or his ingenuity. Eduardo’s superpower was his kindness. Being gentle and smiley is not a weakness, it is the opposite. It is the most powerful tool we have.

There has been an incredible outpouring of love for Eduardo. With the blessing of Eduardo's family along with the Colorado School of Mines and the National University of Colombia, we’ve decided to set up this Go Fund Me page where any money raised will be passed to Eduardo's family.

If you think about it, it’s kind of funny that Eduardo studied geology and geophysics because that was the best way he could help the whole planet. To support Eduardo’s legacy living on with us, both his intelligence and his heart, the funds raised here in addition to supporting Eduardo's family after this tragic loss will go to help support research in Geology and Geophysics.

These are such challenging times, and the outpouring of love and care has been treasured. While there is nothing we can do to ease the pain of this loss, we hope this provides an outlet to anyone looking to support Eduardo's legacy.

There is no pressure for you to contribute. But if you would like to and are able to, it would be a lovely gesture and one that is appreciated by all that knew him, no matter how big or small. Regardless of whether you contribute to this fund, please keep Eduardo in your thoughts and let his light shine in your life as we honor the legacy of this incredible, irreplaceable person, who was certainly taken too soon.
