In Memory of Jun Young: Support the Shin Family

Hello everyone, my name is Brian Shin. Im raising this GoFundMe because I lost my father (Jun Young Shin) in a tragic car accident.

He was a pedestrian, who was crossing the street until he got run over by a driver going beyond 40-50+ MPH. He arrived at the hospital with multiple injuries including: multiple broken ribs, a fractured femur, a broken and bleeding pelvis, along with bleeding on the head, and trauma/bruising all throughout his body.

During treatment, he experienced both Liver and Kidney failure shortly after arriving. That combined with the extensive blood loss from the initial accident, left him ineligible for liver replacement surgery. The surgery that would have been the start to help him survive from this traumatic accident. While in treatment to try and improve his condition, the doctors informed us that it would be impossible for him after many days of monitoring and continued care. Unable to wake up, or speak post care, he ended up passing away peacefully with loving family around him on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

We would really appreciate any kind of kind words for this unimaginable tragic loss in the family, or monetary aid if you feel inclined to help out and are able to do so. All donations will first go towards offsetting his funeral expenses which is around $8,000-10,000. Any additional donations post funeral expenses, will help our family cover costs during the lawsuit against the perpetrators who caused our dear father's premature and extremely unjust passing.
