In Memory of Karen King
You knew immediately if you were at a good party and among friends if you heard Momma K's laugh, it was a snorting, loud cackle that you just had to laugh with. Sometimes it just stopped the whole conversation abruptly, so you could join in.
Come join us August 17 2019 in Seymour Arm for her Celebration of Life at the Ye'ol Mansion and fundraiser for the Seymour Arm First Responders, just like she did every year.
A Facebook event will be posted soon to give you all the details.
Momma K, Karen King, was a centre of any circle of friends, she was with. She opened her home to all people without prejudice, she loved you on the first day she met you, and you would always get a hug and good meal to feed and sooth your soul. Karen affected people in such away that it can't be described, you just knew that she loved you with all her heart.
Karen loved her final home community of Seymour Arm. Through her life, she lived in many places, Surrey, Vancouver, Forest Grove, Campbell River, Calgary, Fairmont Hot Springs, Scotch Creek. She even was a road momma in Mexico for the Scottish rock band, McQuaig,; But her one place where she was the happiest, and loved so much, is the little town of Seymour Arm BC.
We know that we can't say goodbye to Momma K without a good family meal, a good party and true celebration of life all for her true love of her community. She spent her time helping others, even when she was put-out or should be helping herself, she was there for you if you needed to be consoled in a time of need, to listen to your story, bring a warm meal when you were down and out, or to fund-raise cash for a good cause. Momma K was there for you.
We are looking to raise about $5000 or more.
Funds raised for Karen's celebration of life will be put towards;
- community celebration of life party
- memorial bench or community structure
- Kris and Laura's emergency travel expenses
- a grant or legacy fund for the Seymour Arm Emergency First Responders
Funds will be managed by children Kris, Laura and good friends Leslie Milligan, and Doris Porteous
"You better be coming to dinner!!!"
Love you all
Kris King, Laura Eeckhout, Scott Rivette, Fair Family and the Seymour Arm First Responders.
