In Memory of Kevin Barnhart: Support for Funeral Costs

Our family has been through a painful and unexpected 48 hours. Kevin suffered an aneurysm in the earliest hours Monday morning. He then had a cardiac event which caused his heart to stop. He was then resuscitated and life-flighted to South Dakota. He was pronounced brain dead Tuesday afternoon. Kevin chose to be an organ donor and so we followed through with his wishes. If you didn’t know Kevin, the one thing you should know is he had a heart of gold. If you did know Kevin, then I’m sure you know how infectiously his warm-hearted, charismatic personality touched the hearts of those around him. He was truly the definition of “a jack of all trades.” Once he put his mind to something and started a project, he was gonna figure out how to get it done, and if he didn’t know how to do something, he was going to learn. He was the guy who would come over and help build a handicap-accessible ramp for a family member who just got out of surgery. He loved to sew and was quite good. He did upholstery and could fix just about any dirt bike or four-wheeler. If you were close to Kevin, then you probably know he had the hands of a working man. He was grateful for everything he had in life, no matter how much or how little. He was such a supportive friend and family member. He really made you believe you could do anything you put your mind to. There was absolutely never a dull moment with him around, whether he was dancing around or cracking jokes, taking us to ride dirt bikes, teaching us to roll cigarettes, letting us practice driving, hanging out with his boys, or fixing a car, he always made it a good time. We learned so many valuable lessons and skills and made a million and one beautiful memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

We set up this GoFundMe as Devin, his son, was left to make all of the hard decisions as well as all of the funeral arrangements and costs.

In loving memory of a wonderful father, a caring spouse, an amazing friend to all, a brother, the most fun grandpa anyone could’ve asked for, and an overall hardworking, charismatic, fun-loving, infectious soul! May he rest in peace. He will live through all of us and be missed for as long as we live. We love you, Kevin Murry Barnhart.
