In memory of Kevin Lambert
Donation protected
Kevin Lambert was 42 years old when he was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, which is an aggressive Bile Duct Liver cancer. He was married to Amanda Lambert and they lived in Clarke County, have 3 children. Ryan (26), McKinlee (16) and Brylee Lambert (13). He also had 3 grandchildren that he enjoyed and loved more than anything. They were the biggest blessing and came into this world at the perfect time. They filled his heart and soul with joy.
In the beginning of his diagnosis, surgery was not an option as the cancer had already spread when it was discovered. Kevin had uncountable rounds of intravenous chemo, radioembolization procedures, oral chemo and also some trial medications in an effort to stall the spread. He outlived most people who get this cancer, which attests to his motivation for living as long as possible for his children. He never wanted to leave his kids without a father. He even asked Amanda before he passed, "how will you take care of the girls, who will help you pay for volleyball?" His main focus in life was always caring for his children. He told every family member when visiting him near the end, "please take care of my family" Kevin was adamant that he did not want to leave his home during his final days. He also did not prefer any other caretakers other than Amanda, McKinlee, Brylee, Ryan, and his sister Lisa. He bravely fought this horrible disease with Amanda by his side every moment and his daughter, McKinlee, even stayed home from school often to help Amanda care for him during his the last year. Ryan, Brylee, and his sister Lisa also gave him so much love and support while he was bed ridden, which was exactly what he needed to motivate him to keep fighting. His pain and suffering ended on 9/6/23 at 3:15 PM in his own bed, with Amanda by his side, listening to a playlist of their favorite songs that they liked to sing together.
Amanda has dedicated the past 3 years of her life, juggling work, taking care of her family and caring for Kevin. We -- Amanda's friends -- are appealing to your kindness and generosity for any donation to help her in this time of need. She would like to use the donations to prepare for some final arrangements and to put in a savings account for McKinlee and Brylee's future. At this time, since Brylee has Celiac Disease, meals are not being requested. All of the money donated will directly benefit the two children and their future. We feel Kevin would be fully at peace knowing that some of his girls needs are taken care of.
If you happen to run into Ryan, McKinlee or Brylee in the future, please tell them a story or a favorite memory about their dad. He wanted them to never forget him. And as a community you can help keep his memory alive in that loving way.
May your generosity be returned to you a hundredfold.
A celebration of life is planned on Kevin's birth date on 9/23/23, at John H Enders Fire Company in Berryville, VA. Time is 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Thank you.
