In Loving Memory of Kim Strickland
Donation protected
On February 19, 2019, Corporal Chad Strickland unexpectedly and tragically lost his wife and their daughter lost her biggest fan – her mom, Kim. Corporal Strickland has served our community with pride and dedication for years. From a patrol officer, to an investigator specializing in crimes against women and children, to his current capacity as Corporal with the city police department – he has served us and his law enforcement family when we needed him most – and, now, he and his family need us.
Today, in America, the average funeral costs between $7,000 to $10,000 dollars. This includes what many consider to be the basic burial rights everyone should receive as they leave this earth for another. This does not include the additional financial hurdles Corporal Strickland now faces as a single father to their young daughter. Sadly, our women and men in blue – who risk their lives daily to keep us safe – work long, hard hours for very, very little pay. Nothing could ever bring Kim back to Chad, their daughter, or the rest of their family, but any contribution would help cover the costs and expenses of this immeasurable loss, so Corporal Strickland can do what he does best – continue to care for those who need him now.
Kim will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, cousin, and friend. She had the biggest heart and she loved her family and her faith. She defined herself best when she said “I am a Christian wife and mother. I am a side tracked home Executive doing her best!” And, she always did her best. If you cannot make a monetary contribution, please keep Corporal Strickland and all of those who loved Kim so much in your thoughts and prayers. And, hug those you love a little tighter today and every day – for Kim.
