It is with profound and unthinkable sadness that we announce the passing of Lauren Ann Malone following complications due to Covid on July 31, 2024.

Lauren—mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend to all—was one of the most beautiful, kind, funny, and caring people any of us have ever known. To have such a beautiful soul taken from us so soon will be a source of grief and heartbreak for years to come.

We will love and miss Lauren forever.

This GoFundMe has been created by her brother, Daniel, to raise essential money for Lauren's two-year-old daughter, Eliana Marie Hemmings.

Born on June 15, 2022, Ellie was the light of Lauren's life, and it is with her that our thoughts rest at this time. Lauren loved Ellie more than anything in the world. As mother and daughter, they were inseparable. Those fortunate enough to have seen them laughing and playing and loving together know there is an incredible amount of Lauren's personality and spirit in Ellie. From her happy smile and loving disposition to her undeniable sense of kindness and humor, Ellie is her mother’s daughter, through and through. Though we are shocked and saddened by Lauren's sudden passing, it warms our hearts to know a piece of her will live on through Ellie.

The primary concern for this GoFundMe is to raise money for immediate childcare support for Ellie. This will include basic essentials like food and clothing, as well as bigger-picture costs like daycare and medical expenses. Any additional funds will be put towards the creation of a 529 college plan to help secure Ellie's longterm future. You can read more about how a 529 plan works here and here.
