In Memory of Loki: Love for Rachel Novak

An absolute devistaition in the dog world today, we lost the beloved Loki, aka Hyena Kitten. Loki and his incredible mom, Rachel Novak, were a legendary dog sport duo! From Frisbee to dock diving to even Mondioring(one of the most difficult dog sports in the world). These two have inspired and impressed so many the past few years! You could just see the tremendous loyalty they had for each other and the positivity they both brought to the sports and world.

I created this page because Rachel has lost enough as it is and I would like to help cover any medical bills, memorials, ect. that she may have. She has been such a positive influence, trainer, and friend to so many that I would love to send some positivity her way.

Being the outstanding dog mom she is, realized Loki was in immense amount of pain in his leg and took him to emergency vet. Then followed up to get a second opinion at OSU. A CT scan and ultrasound found a large abscess that became infected behind his tricep muscle. They sent a culture of the abscess out for further testing, and were hoping it would be cleared up with the right antibiotic. Rachel was able to take him home to give him the best healing support you can get. Loki being such a tough, good boy even started to put weight on his leg.

Unfortunately, this morning (7/26) Rachel found Loki vomiting blood and rushed him to the vet where he was given a blood transfusion. They believed it may have been an ulcer. Even though Loki fought tough and fierce, it wasn't enough to keep him here, on this side of rainbow bridge.

Fly free and fierce Hyena Kitten! We will all miss your incredible talents and that goofy, tough, and lovable personality!
