In memory of Lorena Lawrence Mast

It is with a broken heart that I announce that our family has had to suddenly and unexpectedly say goodbye to Lorena Mast.

Lorena was… a source of love for so many, a mother to Kat, Isaiah, and Elizabeth, and the very best sister to Alan, Nicole, and Monika. We don't know why Lorena has left us, and we are waiting for answers to this tragic situation. We do know that on Saturday, July 24, 2022 Lorena was doing what she lived for, caring for her family. She loaded the six children in her care into her beloved Astro van on the way to explore nature and God’s universe. In a moment, she was gone. Her final act was one of love, taking the impact to save her family. Lorena never made it to the hospital, but she ensured that her nieces and nephews knew how much she loved them. Torrian, Ellie, Londyn, Izzy, Will Will, and Vezzy are in recovery in Glasgow, MT. At this time, the family is asking for everyone to please lift the family up with prayers and love as they figure out the next steps, not only for today and the next few days but for the road they are headed down in the weeks and months ahead.

I also want to thank everyone for the overwhelming outpouring of support and love during this difficult time. We are still figuring out the best ways to communicate the support needs of Lorena's family moving forward, like meals, first aid, gift cards, etc... So many of you have asked about how to help. We indeed appreciate the huge community of people who are crying and grieving with us, so one step has been to set up this fundraiser to help her with any financial hardships for funeral costs, bills, and/or anything else she will need at this time.

We all loved Lorena and her fierce love and devotion to family and friends, her kind heart, and love for the children of the world and everyone around her. She was my mother and best friend. She was also a well-loved sister, auntie, niece, cousin, friend, teacher, chaplain, and co-worker who deeply touched many lives in her time on Earth. Gone too soon, we all feel so blessed to have had the chance to know and love her. She will be forever missed and never forgotten by all who were lucky enough to know her. We love you.

I am Lorena’s oldest child, and ALL of the generous funds being donated here for Lorena’s legacy and her family will be put directly into her bank account. Kat has already accepted the withdrawal control for this fundraiser. Furthermore, the money will not only go toward the funeral and memorial expenses. Still, it will also be used to pay for the housing, food, transportation, and necessities needed to move forward.
