In Memory of Lt Allen Fortin: Help His Family

As most of our Law Enforcement community knows at this time, Lt Allen Fortin of the Chittenden County Sheriff's Department passed away unexpectedly on Feb 2nd. I write this as a close friend of over 20 years and a previous colleague of Al's. Al dedicated his life to his family and his community. He served as a sergeant and lieutenant with the Shelburne Police Department for 29 years before joining the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Office in 2018. His passion in law enforcement was traffic safety. He was a pillar of our community, a colleague, a family man, and a friend. If I'm being completely honest, there are no words to sufficiently describe what an incredible human being he was. His loss is felt by many.

I've set this up to help his family alleviate some of the financial burden associated with such a sudden loss and to ensure that the Fortin family receives the support they need. Funds raised will go directly towards assisting them in this difficult period, with an option for donors to support selected charities that were close to Allen’s heart or to send cards with their heartfelt messages.
