In Memory of Dr. Marc Calix: Education Fund
Donation protected
On Monday, December 28, 2020, Marc Calix passed away unexpectedly in Washington, DC, only a short month after celebrating his 50th birthday. The world has lost a wonderful son, husband, father, caretaker, surgical neurophysiologist, and a true friend. He described himself as down to earth and easy going. In his own words: “My objectives are to help humanity and give back to the world as much as I can.”
Marc migrated from Haïti to the United States and planted roots in Rhode Island. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Health from Penn State University and a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Parker University in Dallas, Texas. Marc was deeply passionate about the field of neurophysiology and went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship training in neurology and electrophysiology. Marc clearly made his mark on the world while he was here.
Marc can be described as a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, jokingly referred to as the “President for life of the Dallas Cowboys Fan Club” by his family and friends. An avid traveler and entertainer, Marc loved to cook and entertain, and would go the extra mile to ensure that everyone was having a great time. He was free-spirited, adventurous, caring, and enjoyed celebrating life. He played soccer, flew Cessna airplanes, had a very eclectic taste for music from around the world, and particularly enjoyed playing and dancing Haitian Konpa. He also loved to play the Congas and drums and would often hold jam sessions with his friends and kids. Above all, Marc deeply cared for and loved his family.
May his legacy be carried forward by those who loved him especially his children. As part of Judelande’s "village," we can come together to support her and her family in the numerous ways they will need help in the weeks, months and years ahead.
Marc was a loving father who would move heaven and earth for his children and wife. Many of you have graciously asked how you can help during this time. As we know the cost of education is rising every year. Through the education fund, we can be part of Brielle’s and Zephan’s success story.
Please consider donating and continue to surround the family with all your love.
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
