On Friday, 11/29/2024, I took my mother, Maria Ines Perez Javias, to the ER for care, and she was immediately admitted to Centinela Hospital. They determined she needed to be seen by a GI specialist for further diagnostics and advised that a possible surgical procedure might be needed. However, the specialist would NOT be available to see her until 12/4/24. I demanded for her to get immediate GI attention/transfer to a GI specialist, and that same day, Sunday night, 12/01/2024, I had her transferred to California Hospital. After further review, 3 days later, we were told she had to have emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder because it was full of stones. Additionally, they also informed us her liver was not functioning properly. She went in for surgery on 12/05/2024 at 9:00 am

and about an hour later, the surgeon called stating that he would not be able to finalize the surgery because they found out that she had stage 4 cancer and her liver was functioning at 15%.
