Our dearly beloved sister was so cruelly taken from us with no warning. To know her was to love her, she had the biggest heart and would always come to the aid of others without doubt or question. She was such a beautiful and loving soul, she had such an infectious laugh and her smile would just light up a room.

Marilyns story is truly sad and tragic after the unexpected death of her mother, Marilyn was the only child from her biological mother. She moved around from home to home before being abandoned on her own where she lived alone and struggled with undiagnosed mental health. She then managed to track down her biological father and joined our family aged 19, she quickly became a valued member of our family. Although she had found stability within our family, the death and the loss of her mother at such a young age triggered a mental health breakdown and a diagnosis of mental health. She struggled to adjust to life on medications and maintaining her social life and employment responsibilities, however with the support of her father and our family she managed to find happiness, stability, and that big family environment with brothers and sisters she had once craved.

Marilyn first complained of a stitch on Thursday 25th of June, after going for a routine blood test, the following days she developed a fever and complained of feeling cold. This continued for 3 weeks where her temperature remained high, she had two negative COVID-19 tests, before deciding to go to St Heiler Hospital on Thursday the 2nd of July. She was admitted for high temperature and possible viral infection. During her admission, her condition deteriorated further by the day, by Monday the 6th of July she was transferred to ICU where a CT was done which found liver failer. She was then put into an induced coma to relieve the body from working so hard due to issues with her liver.

Kings Liver Intensive Unit immediately requested Marilyn to be transferred to them on Tuesday the 7th of July. The following day we were told she was in acute liver failure and that her kidneys were also failing. By Friday the 10th of July her condition had deteriorated considerably with now multiple organ failure, and Kings Liver Intensive Unit could not find a cause for this. They said the best they could do in this situation was a liver transplant, she was put on an urgent list and was the only person in the UK waiting for a liver. They were very optimistic that they would receive a liver as quickly as 1 to 3 days, Saturday a liver came available but it as too small for her.  On Tuesday the 14th of July we were told Marilyn condition deteriorated which resulted in a brain hemorrhage.

Our beloved sister Marilyn passed away just after her 31st birthday which was on Wednesday the 15th of July, on Thursday the 16th of July all machines aiding her breathing, kidney function, and blood pressure where turned off at 3.45 pm. Marilyn passed away shortly after, this has been a very difficult and challenging time for our family to experience such a sudden loss of life and during Covid-19.

We really would appreciate any donations towards funeral costs to provide her the send-off she deserves as her life was cut short so cruelly.
