In memory of Matt Krivos

Charlie and Chloe were devastated after losing their mother (Holly) only 10 months ago. Unimaginably, these children have now suffered the loss of their father (Matt), who suddenly passed away of natural causes on the morning of July 16th 2022 doing what he enjoyed, surfing in Carlsbad, CA. Matt had undiagnosed coronary artery disease which most likely led to an activity-induced arrhythmia. I know Matt would be infuriated with me if I did not take this moment to implore everyone to get stress tests and advocate for your personal cardiac health.
My twin brother had to endure a lot over the last 10 months as he accepted the responsibility like a WARRIOR, for not only his recovery and grief from Holly’s passing but also in taking on the role of a single parent. He was championing his own mental/physical health as well as that of Charlie and Chole and was making such huge progress. It surely doesn’t seem fair that this is how Matt’s story ends and I will struggle to find peace with this conclusion. He has always been a huge energy and presence in everything that he has done his whole life, so it will be hard to be ok with our new normal without him.
He and the kids received so much love and support from his company RES, the Fireside community, his neighbors, friends, and family. It really is staggering how much love and support was surrounding him and the kids. I cannot even begin to thank each person enough for everything that was done for my brother, his kids, and our family. With the loss of Holly only 10 months ago, and now Matt, we would like to raise money for Charlie’s (8) and Chole’s (5) future needs in preparation for the next phase of their lives without their beloved parents.
Thank you all for the support, love, and care you have given to my brother, his kids, and our family.
With love and gratitude,
Kady (Krivos) Willison – Matt’s twin sister
