In memory of Matt Roberts

Matt’s life was suddenly and unexpectedly cut short on December 3rd, 2021.

His passing leaves a empty place in the hearts of his wife Sara and young son Charlie, as well as in our community of Strathcona and in the lives of the people who surrounded him.

His comic relief and calm demeanour were always a welcome presence at McLean park, on the soccer field and at improv nights.

Matt’s work as a carpenter was a significant contributor to their family’s expenses but, as some of you may know, Matt had been suffering from a back injury and had a reduced income from WCB over the past few months.

It is our hope that this fundraiser will offer Sara some help with the financial hardships over these last months as well as some relief moving forward on her own as a single parent.

The donations will also give Sara some space in the immediate future to focus on healing from Matt’s passing and caring for Charlie.
