Matthew Mondry Memorial - supporting the Mondrys

Thank you for visiting this gofundme page. If you’re here, you must have known Matt or someone related to the Mondry family, and if you did, you knew a loud and boisterous bunch who lived to the fullest and loved their neighbor as they loved themselves.

Matt and Darla tied the knot two years ago and recently took their new married lives to their first home together in Painesville, into which they just recently finished settling in.

Anyone who knows Darla knows she will rise from any hardship with poise and grace; she has already done so in these first few days following Matt’s passing. As a young couple, Matt and Darla had discussed life insurance as many do, but never thought they would need something in place so soon, so did not have a policy in place. With that, Darla faces a complicated and uncertain financial future.

It is our hope to help support Darla as she navigates these next months through complex decisions related to Matt’s trucking business, the ongoing sale of their previous home in Parma, and their new home in Painesville.

We are still sorting through and learning what expenses may be coming related to Matt’s passing or whether Darla will be able to stay in their new home. For now, we feel that having this gofundme account will her time to make decisions based not on racing a financial clock, but what is best for her as she navigates her new normal in the long term.

Funds raised here will first be used for funeral expenses, then will be used for outstanding and unanticipated  family expenses and charitable causes Matt would be proud to support (also listed in the obituary). Funds will be disbursed to an account managed by Darla and all funds will be directly managed and owned by Darla Mondry.
