Memorial Bench for Mehki Clay

Celebrate the enduring spirit of Mehki Clay, a dedicated Del Campo and Barrett wrestler, whose vibrant presence was tragically lost in a swimming accident at Sly Park on 6/12/2023. A beloved member of our community, Mehki touched hearts with his infectious personality and love for skating at Sunrise Rollerland.

To honor Mehki’s legacy, we’re initiating a fundraising campaign for a memorial bench within Sly Park at the location of his passing. This bench, accompanied by a plaque, will stand as a lasting tribute to this remarkable young man, with our aim to have it in place by the 1-year anniversary of his passing.

The selected bench option and plaques incur a higher-than-expected cost—$3,390. We’re reaching out to our community, both online and at the Barrett Bash tournaments on 12/16/2023, 1/6/2024, and 1/27/2024 at John Barrett Middle School. Your generous donations will help us reach our goal with any excess funds presented to Barrett wrestling, a program close to Mehki's heart.
