In Memory of Melissa Lapp

Melissa was born on November 29, 1984. She had two sisters and one little brother. She had one son, Jayden, and was a surrogate of 3. Melissa was insanely sarcastic and quick witted that no one on this planet could match. She was immensely talented in many different aspects but wit and sarcasm, I think we can all agree, were her specialties. She was the bestest friend anyone could ask for. She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Her family was her life. Her pride and joy was her son Jayden. Everything she did she did for him. We lost Melissa on March 10th, 2022. Melissa went from walking around doing normal melissa things and spiraled incredibly fast in a matter of a couple days. The original surgery to place a catheter in her tumor was not placed correctly and it seemed that it was slowly, over time, leaking spinal fluid into her brain. Jayden had come home from school the night of March 8th and when he went to go see her she had fallen out of her bed and was on the floor. Awake and breathing but not responding to any form of communication. We called 911 and she was rushed to Renown hospital in Reno Nevada. She was placed in icu and sedated. Many scans were done. The “tumor” had grown roughly 2 cm in size. On the last scan the tumor, which actually was a cyst, was no longer on the scan. The medical opinion was that the cyst had ruptured leaving her irreversibly brain dead. We sat there with her told her how much we loved her. And that we would all do our part to make sure Jayden lives his best and fullest life. We were there with her as she took her last breath and her heart took its last beat. She will continue to live on through all of us. In our memories. Our laughs. Our random conversations. Our million dollar ideas that we would one day get around too. And especially through Jayden. That boy is his mothers mini. May her memory keep us laughing and crying for eternity.

Rest in paradise seestar. We’ll take care of your peanut. My heart now beats for the both of us. I love you to the moon and back. Till we meet again.
