In Memory of Michael Carpenter

Tax deductible

On June 11, 2018, Michael "Mike" Carpenter was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease.  ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.  Motor neurons reach from the brain to the muscles all throughout the body.  With ALS, these motor neurons progressively die and the ability to speak, move, eat, and breathe is gradually lost.  There is currently no cure.

My name is Angela Carpenter, and I am Mike's oldest child.  It is with a heavy heart I share that on September 4, 2020, my dad passed away. With support from his family, an incredible caregiver turned friend (Ramil), and hospice staff, he was able to remain at home. His wit and humor will live on in all of us.

My family and I are asking for donations to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association so that one day, we'll find a cure for this awful disease.
