Michael “Skipper” Uson
January 22, 1946 – December 8, 2024
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Michael “Skipper” Uson, age 78, who left us peacefully on December 8, 2024. Mike was born on January 22, 1946, in Agana, Guam, and spent his life making a lasting impact on those around him through his generosity, humor, and vibrant spirit.
Known to his family and friends as “Skipper,” Michael had a deep love for his community and country. An Air Force veteran serving from 1965-1969, he was a lifelong entrepreneur, had a passion for Maritime and an endless love for animals. He was always quick with a smile, a joke, and a helping hand, making him a beloved figure to those around him.
Michael was preceded in death by his father John A. Uson, mother Providencia Salas Uson and brother Ramon Salas Uson. He is survived by life mate Joseph Vierra, sisters Marie Uson Whitehurst and Theresa Uson McCausland and a wealth of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom were the light of his life.
A man of great kindness, Michael’s legacy will live on through his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for life, endless stories, and unwavering loyalty will be remembered fondly.
A memorial service will be held at a later date near the waters he loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the GoFundMe account made to help offset the cost of his funeral expenses.
Rest in peace, Skipper. You will be missed more than words can express
Micheal Uson has left his mark on our hearts and on behalf of the Uson family we are grateful for the support you have shown us during this time. Over the years Mike has lived in many places and has impacted family and friends from all over and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
