In support of Melissa Jackson and her children

It is with a truly heavy heart that I find myself creating this “Go Fund Me” in support of my cousin Melissa Jackson. Sadly, her beloved husband, Mike Jackson, father to their six children, passed away suddenly. Melissa now finds herself with the overwhelming task of providing for these children on her own, along with dealing with the grief of losing her soulmate.

Mike was a loyal, charismatic guy. He had a zest for life! The outdoors was his solitude. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, kayaking and bonfires. Mike looked forward to his many chats on the porch with his loving wife, Melissa.

He had a natural talent for fixing or renovating almost anything he set his eyes on. He was an incredibly talented artist. He was truly gifted.

Unfortunately, Mike recently lost his father, and after months of grief, he felt a call to be with him. His brain was in a state of stress overload. Mike experienced delusional thoughts and beliefs, along with visual and auditory hallucinations. Sadly, on November 14th, 2022, Mike suffered a psychotic break and made the decision to join his father.

The brain is a very powerful tool, and Mental Health can take your life from a fairy tale to devastation in the blink of an eye. When you notice someone with any unusual signs or symptoms, sleep disturbance, agitation, behaviour changes, withdrawing or spending more time alone. Take them seriously.
