In Loving Memory of Monteith Shyheim Lowery
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Monteith Shyheim Lowery, age 27, who tragically left us on Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Durham, North Carolina. His sudden departure has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him. He worked at UNC Hospitals in the Operating room, that's where me and any who met him fell in love with his personality and that smile!
Monteith, affectionately known to those who loved him, was preceded in death by his grandfathers Kent Pettiford and Charles Lowery, grandmother Jenny Stanfield, great-grandmother Mildred McGhee, and aunt Diana Slade. While his earthly life has ended, his spirit will forever live in the memories of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Monteith is survived by his loving mother, Sheniqua Lowery; his father, Darricke Lowery (Marisha); his devoted fiancé, Lanisha Thorpe; his two precious sons, Messiah and Malachi Lowery; his sister, Tanzania Lowery; brothers, Javon Lowery and Rashad Oliver; step-siblings, Sono, Aniah, and Trinite; step-brothers, Vennicey and Rakim; nieces, Mayah Showers and Madison Lowery; grandmothers, Linda Pettiford (James) and Ella Daye (Bruce); grandfather, John Wayne Stanfield; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins (including his favorite cousin, "Bhino"), and a host of family and friends who all mourn his loss.
As his family navigates this unimaginable loss, we are reaching out to you for support. The financial burden of funeral expenses, memorial services, and ensuring that Monteith’s children are well-cared for during this difficult time is overwhelming. We ask for your help, whether it’s through a donation or by sharing this campaign with others who may be able to offer support.
Funds Raised Will Be Used For:

Monteith was a loving son, father, brother, and friend. His kindness, laughter, and the love he gave to his family and friends will never be forgotten. He touched so many lives, and his loss has created a void in the hearts of those who knew him. Your contribution, no matter the size, will provide immense relief to his family during this time of mourning.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and kindness as we celebrate the life and memory of Monteith Shyheim Lowery.
