Hi My name is Victoria im climbing
Snowdon, Scarfel Pike and Ben Nevis.
Snowdon climb is 21/04/24
Scafell Pike climb is 10/7/24
Ben Nevis will be climbed on my dads birthday 10/07/2025 in his honour to remember him and honour his memory. My dad climbed Ben Nevis after being told by doctors he wasn't able to after undergoing surgery for 4 brain hemorrhages and 7 brain aneurysms. He shown doctors his determination and didnt listen and was my Hero. I lost my dad on the 15/07/2023 after a very short but brave fight with cancer. Marie curie gave us the help we needed to help him fight that extra bit longer than the initial 24 hours they gave him. I am going to go on a journey to get myself ready and healthy for this climb and would love it if anyone could show me some support.
Marie curie is a charity we as a family have benefited from twice now and its only right they get the support they so desperately deserve. They are angels.

I was my dads carer for the time he fought and its another thing I can do for him and for me to feel close to him again.

The reading at my dads funeral gives an example of our relationship and what he meant to me.
" I'm not going to stand here and tell you all about my dad, you wouldn't be here if you didn't know him and love him already.
I'm sure you will all have many of your own stories about him and many different lists of words that you would personally use to describe him.
But I'm sure there is one word to use that I think we would all have on our lists.
Courageous: The ability to face pain or opposition, the ability to fight, to show determination, without showing fear.
And that is what my Dad did throughout this awful illness, he Face pain, he fought and showed determination without fear. He kept fighting on, regardless of the prognosis given by the doctors.
His strength and determination gave us all precious extra time with him, giving us months rather than the day that the doctors predicted. It got him into the garden and upto "The Legends Bar" to spend time with his friends and family. It got him dressed up in his smartest clothes and on his feet for his "One last Date" with my Mum.
I have always called my Dad "The cat with 9 lives", given his ability to keep going against the odds, and although he has used those 9 lives up now, He's shown us how to fight with courage through each of them.
Whenever I face adversity, all I need to do is think of my Dad, and take inspiration from the courage he has shown throughout his life.
Dad, you are my role model and my Hero, I Love You. Victoria
