In Memory of My Dad, Lin Chang

Hi, my name is Mina Chang and I am creating this fundraiser for my dad, Lin Chang.

On April 16th, 2023, my father was part of a fatal accident where he fell off of a railroad track. His death was unexpected and devastating for everyone who knew him. The rest of our family, including my mother and his wife of 22 years, my brother, my sister and I, are deeply distraught and will spend the rest of our lives missing him. We will always love him with our entire hearts.

My father was a lieutenant in the NYPD and retired in 2018 after 22 years of service. Even after retirement, my dad never stopped wanting to help people. He lived to be a helping hand for everyone, whether he knew them or not. He was an active member of our community. Anyone could call him and he would drop everything to assist, whether it was to ask for advice, install cameras, clean up the streets, take care of pets and houses or just talk.

My dad is the most selfless and caring man I know. Every day, I looked forward to talking to him over dinner about what happened during our days. He always had an answer for any questions we had, and if he didn't, he would make sure to find one. For my brother, sister and I, he was our biggest supporter in anything we did. The 19, 21 and 22 years we spent with him will never feel like enough but will always be our most cherished times.

We have scheduled a funeral for Friday, April 21st. We hope to honor him and his life not only during the funeral but for as long as we live. We are fundraising to help with the costs and would greatly appreciate any help that can be given. Please know that your contribution will be used to directly help with funeral expenses.
