In Memory of Nelson Edwards: Fund Local Music Programs

100% of these memorial funds will be donated to music programs in the community.

Many of you who knew my dad knew him as a dedicated, fun-loving music educator. Some of you were lucky enough to also know him as a performer. My dad impacted so many lives and people in his community. He loved music and he loved teaching. He dedicated his life to it. Every person who was taught by him would always tell me about how much they loved Mr. Edwards.

Throughout his teaching career, he taught at all levels of music from elementary to high school. Brosville, Dan River, Fieldale-Collinsville, Bassett, and Laurel Park were just a few places lucky enough to have him.

And he could play it all. I can't even count the number of bands he was in throughout his life playing drumset, keyboard, or any other type of percussion in bands ranging from jazz to southern rock. All that mattered to him was that he was making music.

My dad would want nothing else but to carry on the gift of music. He genuinely loved teaching kids.

In his honor and in lieu of flowers, you are welcome to contribute anything you like in his memory. There is no true goal target for this (I have to pick a number). This platform is simply just being used to collect and distribute funds. I will be distributing 100% of all donations to music programs in the community that he loved.
