Support the Bedford Daughters After Their Loss
Donation protected
In loving memory of Nora Bedford (54), who courageously battled ovarian cancer. Nora was not only a devoted mother, fiancé, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, but also a cherished presence in the lives of her family and friends. Her passing on Friday, July 12th has left us all heartbroken, and we are seeking to provide support to her loved ones during this difficult time. Nora was a single mother who was the sole provider for her beloved daughters, Emily Bedford (20), student at Virginia Tech, and Meghan Bedford (23), student at James Madison University.
Nora was a devoted educator who cherished her students and had a deep love for the water, particularly boating and visiting her hometown in Long Island. She found joy in spending time with her loved ones and had a vibrant spirit that welcomed everyone with open arms. Despite her unwavering dedication to teaching, she was compelled to retire early following her cancer diagnosis.
In April 2023, Nora received the devastating news of her diagnosis and underwent six rounds of intensive chemotherapy. By November 2023, she was declared cancer-free. However, in February 2024, her cancer resurfaced, and medical professionals determined it to be resistant to chemotherapy. Undeterred, Nora bravely enrolled in a clinical trial study, which initially showed promising results in alleviating her symptoms. Tragically, her aggressive cancer rapidly spread throughout her body and ultimately led to her passing.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and compassion. Your contribution will directly benefit her daughters, Meghan and Emily, by helping to alleviate the expenses associated with their loss. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in their lives. Your generosity and support are truly valued during this challenging period.
