In memory of our beautiful boy Ryan

Donation protected
I am Joanne and I have been Ryan’s full time carer since the day he was born 17/09/2003 up until the day he sadly passed last week 08/09/2022. This is my nephews story…

Ryan has had many health issues and also diagnosed with Lennox-gastaut syndrome (A rare form of epilepsy) and through periods of his life he could have up to 90 seizures a day which would leave him exhausted. Yet he still wouldn’t let that get in his way of leaving a smile on your face every single day of his life. He loved music and dancing in his wheelchair. He also used to love bum shuffling on the floor with his tin dog bowl, he would play for hours and hours spinning it and making as much noise as he could, he mastered many skills with this over the years. Ryan always saw the good in people his eyes would captivate you clearly. He loved interacting with anyone he came across and say a big “Hiya”. He would leave everyone’s day a bit brighter than what it was before seeing him, even if he was having a bad day he would try and make yours better. He was full of warmth, gratefullness and so much love. He lived life to the fullest and loved it too.

His sisters have been the biggest part of his life making it fun and always putting music on to dance to. Their hugs, even hearing their voices would make Ryan’s face light up.

His greatest hero was his mum he loved her like I’ve never seen someone love another person so much. Ryan was her only child and biggest achievement they shared such a special bond.

No one else could bring us happiness the way Ryan did, he showed us what true love was and how it’s spoken through the eyes and not with words. He taught us many lessons in his life about happiness, enjoyment in life and compassion for others. We want to honour him and celebrate him in the biggest and best way we can.

Anything extra will be put towards the family’s journey to heal and to continue to share his story and memorials in places he loved. Plus some will be donated to Claire house childrens hospice who have been amazing during this time supporting our family and being able to give Ryan so much peace and comfort in his final moments they truly have been amazing. Seeing Ryan so comfortable and peaceful gave great comfort to our family and we want to help this hospice to be able to continue to do their amazing work in supporting other families.
