In memory of our beloved mum Juliet Lubega

The passing of our cherished mother, Juliet Lubega, occurred on July 4th, 2024.
It was two weeks ago that we went on a lovely family trip just me, my mother and my brother. We had a lovely time, however, my mum hit her leg whilst trying to get out of my car. She was taken to hospital, treated for her wounds and sent home. On Sunday, the 30th of June she started to show signs of confusion. On Monday morning, we arranged to take her to A&E where she was admitted, the doctors very quickly informed us that she had an infection which they attempted to treat but found it very difficult due to her failing organs; although she was confused, she was still able to talk and communicate independently. By Tuesday afternoon she had deteriorated significantly she had lost her ability to speak or take any fluids, Drs continued several treatments but she was not responding positively, on Thursday night surrounded by family and loved ones, she took her last breath.
She was a wonderful mother, daughter, and friend to everyone she met. As a person, Juliet was truly remarkable. She was passionate about education, and a staunch believer that "no child should be left behind."
Her proudness to have attended the Gayaza international high school and Makerere University is something she was forever proud of and wore it as a badge.
She helped establish the GOGA78 ( Gayaza old girl association ) group chat. A coordinator, a forum bringing us together. Juliet has been active in the UK chapter for GOGA, she contributed to girl child education in Uganda, through GOGA. Her inputs to the Uganda Red Cross Society, propelled the Health Program, her contribution to Camden Social Services, the list is endless. Thank you Juliet for giving so much to this world.
Through her efforts, she was able to provide assistance to a large number of people, and she made an impression on everyone she came in contact with, she constantly pushed and encouraged all of us, even seeing things in us we were unable to see in ourselves.
Juliet was the last surviving child amongst 4 brothers and sisters, She took charge and throughout her hardships and health hurdles she ensured no matter what that her late brother/sisters children in Uganda were also looked after, well educated and afforded the opportunities that may not have gotten in the absence of her siblings.
Due to Juliet's working life being cut short as a result of an illness that rendered her unable to work, her main priority was to provide a good life for her children. Juliet was determined to not succumb to her illness and desired to pursue her interests in travelling and writing to further better herself.
Juliet’s two children worked tirelessly to ensure that she was taken care of and Juliet fought to her final day to be here to watch the two grow up. Other than her two children, Juliet is also leaving behind her old mother in Uganda who has been devastated to hear this news via telephone.
As a result of our fundraising effort, Juliet's mother will be able to travel all the way from Uganda to attend the burial of her final child and get a real goodbye.
We are all in complete and absolute disbelief as a result of this loss. Juliet did so much for everyone else and we are now in a position where we are asking to band together to give her the unforgettable send off she deserves. We were not prepared for this loss and so we need raise Fifteen Thousand Pounds as soon as we possibly can in order to afford the funeral service. Any amount would be of tremendous benefit to us & will also allow us to continue her legacy.
Please find it in your hearts to give whatever contribution you can big or small. To you, we are indebted without words.
