In Memory of our friend Michelle LeMay
Donation protected
It is with a broken heart that we shared with you all that our beautiful friend Michelle LeMay has been called home to Heaven. We have decided to gather all the people who love her and share her story now that she can no longer tell it. Please help us, help Michelle’s Family in any way possible; with enough people, a little can go a long way to help cover the cost of the funeral services and the remaining medical bills. They won’t ask themselves, so we ask that you please donate to this incredible and inspirational family on their behalf.
Michelle was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in November 2018 at just 45 years old. As if this wasn’t hard enough, just six months later, she received the horrible news that she had breast cancer and that it had also spread to her lymph nodes! For the past two+ years, she has endured multiple surgeries, including removing 22 lymph nodes, a double mastectomy, reconstruction, a total hysterectomy, and most recent surgery to treat a blockage on her intestines.
At the beginning of April 2021, Michelle decided to go ahead and get her Covid shot because of her compromised immune system….this should have been a walk in the park after what she had endured! However, Michelle awoke the next day with excruciating pain as her limbs began to lose feeling. She could no longer walk. She was rushed to the ER and spent almost 180 days between the ICU and Rehab Centers. She was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
Through it all, her loving husband of 22 years never left her side. The effects on their three children are beyond heart-wrenching. (I also must mention that Ron had a hip replacement in the middle of all of Michelle’s cancer treatments! He also changed jobs to be closer to home in case Michelle needed him, and he has spent the better part of this past year in and out of hospitals and sleeping beside Michelle while taking care of her.)
About a month ago, Michelle received news that her cancer was back, and this time it was more aggressive, it had metastasized. Despite several treatments, she underwent cancer spread to her lymph nodes, bones, skull, abdomen, and gallbladder. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her Beautiful Family.
Though we know she is no longer in pain or suffering, we are still heartbroken in disbelief. Michelle was always there, ready to lend a hand, listen to you or hug you when you needed it the most. Her laughter was contagious and one that we will miss terribly. She was always a brave warrior as she faced this never-ending battle for her life. Yet, no matter how bad things got for her, she always kept a positive attitude and decided to openly share her experience with others in the hope her story would reach anyone who could benefit from it. She never gave up!
