In Memory of Pam Mathews

Our mom, Pamela Viney Mathews (Pam), was a social worker, a reporter, a lawyer, a professor and political blogger, but in all of these roles one thing remained constant; she was a connector and promoter of people. It seemed Pam  knew just about everybody and rather than use these connections for her own benefit she always looked to promote others. Accordingly, we could not think of a more fitting tribute to our mom than to establish a scholarship in her name, to help people advance their education in media and/or law. This way she will continue to put people in places to succeed even after she has passed on. 

Since we are unable to accept the flowers, food and hugs that would ordinarily be appropriate due to the current pandemic we are asking Pam's friends and family to consider contributing to her memorial fund. Funds raised will be used to establish a scholarship in her name at one of the institutions that was near and dear to her. Admittedly, we are in the very beginning stages of this idea, and will post updates as this endeavor progresses.

Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers and kind words. Spencer, Taylor and I appreciate hearing your Pam stories during these times. So, please  consider donating, but as importantly please take a moment to leave your memories of our mom.
