Hello, My name is Damian Baez
On The morning after Christmas I awoke to discover that my mother had passed. unfortunately this passing came suddenly and unexpectedly. My mother suffered from Lupus nephritis, was a dialysis patient, and other conditions. due to medications she was taking she was immunosuppressed. she was also on 24/7 oxygen. she recently became ill and at some point overnight she passed.
My sister and I are devastated. and the pain of our loss is indescribable. we are a very small family.
My mother for most of her life raised us on her own and she worked very hard Despite her illnesses, she was able to provide a stable home for us.
My mother Led a Career as a NYC EMT/Paramedic working at places such OLM/Montefiore and Lennox hill to name a few until she could no longer due to her illness. She was a beloved member of her community and she always fought for what was right. My mother served at 9/11 and helped as much as she could during our city's time of need. and served as her union delegate, and fought hard when she was needed. more than anything, she loved everyone with all of her heart and gave everyone 100 percent. she pushed everyone to be better, she expected us all to be our best selves.
In her final days she helped many as a notary and even became a wedding officiary and helped anyone with any official government documents. she was always trying to keep busy and help as much as she could.
My mother lived a hard life, but smiled so bright that all who were in her presence felt her warmth
The reason for this page is to help raise funds for her memorial service fees.
as due to her illnesses she couldn't get any insurance due to the pre-existing conditions
all funds would go to paying for the memorial service. If the funds are raised there will be a memorial service with a viewing and she will then be cremated.
My sister and I thank you all in advance for any contributions in our time of grief.
Sincerely
-Damian Baez
