Patrick Russell passed away on May 6, 2022. As Hashimoto's disease contributed to his death, Shawn and Heidi have asked friends and loved ones to donate to the American Thyroid Association (ATA) in lieu of sending flowers.

The ATA, a 501(c)(3) charity, is dedicated to making the world a better place for patients suffering from thyroid disease and thyroid cancer and has a 4-star "Give with Confidence" rating from Charity Navigator.

GoFundMe will notify the ATA of your donation so they can, in turn, notify Shawn and Heidi. The PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF), also a 501(c)(3) charity, will receive your donation from GoFundMe and grant the funds to the ATA. PPGF will also send you a tax receipt.
